Hello Dr. Foster:
My 7 year old son was diagnosed with JRA, 2 years ago. Throughout those 2 years he was also diagnosed as having severe uveitis. He's vision is currently 20/50 with the aid of glasses. He's taken Enbrel and he's currently on 100 mg of Cellcept along with MTX and prednosoline drops. He's also had a vitrectomy on both eyes along with steroid injection last year.
Now his doctor would like to do another steroid injection along with starting him on Remicade in order to control the inflammation. I would like to know if the steroid injections is necessary if he's going to start on Remicade.
