Posts: 13 Dec 7 10 8:36 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Dr foster. My daughter woke up sunday w eye pain and rednessed. She was diagnosed w uveitis both eyes. Opthomoligist dr. Scales put her on Durezol every hour. Monday night she had headache and it wont go away. Tuesday morning went back to dr and eye pressure went to 44 & 46. They gave her combigan and by afternoon pressure is 27 & 28. However headaches wont go away for long. I am very worried about her. Blood tests r all negative. Just waiting on hla b27. Any idea what could cause headaches. Also dr said inflamation had gone down from+ 3 to+ 2. He seemed surprised. How do we know if this will b recurrent problem or how long this episode will last or when she can resume moral activities. Thank you, jerry

Posts: 2396 Dec 8 10 12:34 PM Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Headache can come from things going on in the head (sinus, brain, orbit), from things going on in the neck, from things going on in the eyes (inflammation, pressure). I suggest you keep her under VERY CLOSE observation by the eye doctor AND by the pediatrician, pursuing other investigations as they see appropriate (eg, MRI of head, etc). On the matter of the odds of recurrence and the prediction of how long this episode will last, I have no way of having any insight into either of these matters, having not personally evaluated this patient. Today dr scales said inflamation down to+ 1 but wants to start oral predisone (40mg for one week then wean off) wants to continue dorezol every hour for 2 more days, then every 3 hours. Uveitis is anterior and all blood test r negative. I am curious as to whether the predisone is neccessary at this point. Dr says he wants to tale care of infllamation asap. Btw. We have appt to see u on dec 21. Thanks

You're going to need him as time goes on, no matter what I discover and recommend when you come to MERSI (I look forward to seeing you and her). You're not right around the corner from me, so Dr. Scales is going to very important to you for a long time. Posts: 13 Dec 13 10 3:10 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Dr. Foster, my daughter saw Dr. Scales today. he said inflammation was just about completely gone (saw 2 cells in right eye). his plan is to continue dorezol every 3 hours until friday, then 4 times/day; she is on 5th day of 40mg predisone, which will be cut to 30 after 7 days, then 20 after 7 more days. she is also on combigan 2 times\day and dilating drops once at night. given this information, should we still keep appt to see you next tuesday or should we wait until she is weaned off meds. thanks, Jerry

Problem is dr scales has decided to release us from treat because we sought second opinion from you. He is recommending dr daniel johnson is san antonio or dr brian berger in austin. Do u have a recommendation ? Thanks jerry.

His plan is to get her off all steroids within 2 weeks. Should the eye pressure problem resolve once she is off the dorezol and predisone? Thanks.

The iop is sorting me but dr scales doesn't seem to have explanation except to say that hopefuuly it goes down after done w steroids. Any thoughts on the iop. Thanks. Jerry h
