I wrote a couple of weeks ago regarding my son and the rash he has been developing after remicade infusions. They thought he was developing serum sickness.
The rash finally began getting better on day 11 but then on day 20, started coming back (prednisone had been stopped on about day 15). We saw rheumatologist Monday and the rash was very bad again with conjunctitis in rt eye. The rheum decided that we cannot continue the remicade. The risk is too great. He wants to continue mtx alone. He has been inflammation free since last Sept. I'm a little worried about mtx alone. Do you think this is reasonable? He is investigating enbrel vs humira and another drug that is interchangeable with mtx that they use for jra, if we need it in the future. What would you recommend? Is one drug more effective than the other (enbrel vs humira)?
Thanks so much for your input
Carey
