Dear Dr Foster
I have posted to you over the years in regard to my father who has AS and recurrent Iritis .
He has Iritis in both eyes, the Iritis has been quiet for 1yr the longest he has gone without an attack for over 40yrs,he tried Methotrexate, but could not
tolerate the symptoms and ended up with very bad bronchitis that turned into pnuemonia. He currently takes nothing to prevent the Iritis, and I am no expert but
this seems crazy to me,are there other options apart from Methotrexate, and Is it bad that he has it in both eyes.
I am travelling to the Uk next week to visit, and will be going to his next appointment with Dr Ayliffe,I have read your site extensively over the years as I
love my father so dearly and want the best treatment for him.Do you think Dr Ayliffe would be offended or angry if I asked him some questions regarding ongoing
treatment for my father as he still seems to be only taking steroids and from what I have read on your site this is not the way to go.He has had a cataract
removed in one eye by Dr Ayliffe and will be getting the one in his other eye done soon.
Thank you in Advance for you reply
Jemmer
