Dr.Foster,
Good evening. Here's an update on Emmie. About a week ago she broke out in a rash on both hips wrapped around them, a rash from her ankles to the top of her toes, her inner thighs, and under her armpits wrapped around her chest area. I called her rheumyand he said to give her 2 ½ teaspoons of Benadryl. I rubbed calamine lotion on her for the itching. It lasted from Friday night till Sunday night with no fever. She also complained of chest pains when she had the rash and even woke up In the middle of the night crying with chest pains. Her Rheumy said Monday if she wasn't complaining anymore to keep an eye one her. Then I noticed her pupil was getting disfigured so I called her neuro-optha. We seen her neuro-optha. Wednesday and Emerson's left eye is full blown with cells again. They are in the front and back again. We are doing Pred forte' every hour while she is awake and she is back on prednisone by mouth 13cc for 3 days and then 6 1/2cc for 5 days. We will return next week for a check up. She has also been crying with her spine hurting and her knee joint that has started all this.
We are in the appealing process for the Remicade. Blue Cross has denied us twice, so I got a letter from your office and our rheumy wrote a letter and sent in Emerson's reports for the appeal. They said we should know something by Monday.
Should I not let her swim when her uveitis is flared?
The left side of her face and eye lids swell also when she's having a flare up is this normal? She also complains and cries with headaches?
Should I get her tested for food allergies to see if its
something she is eating that is causing her to have flare ups ?
Sincerely,
krissy & daniel
