My daughter has JRA related uveitis and as a result had glaucoma surgery (trab) twelve years ago. We have been very fortunuate, because up until now, her eye
has been doing well.
Just recently, she says that her eye feels dry, and it is constantly red. We saw her glaucoma specialist (he is not the one that did the surgery, original Dr. moved out of state) and he thought that it could be caused by the mitomycin C that was used during surgery. He feels that it has damaged the function of her eye self lubricating. It was determined that it is not an infection. She started with Systane Lubricating Drops, then tried Lacri-Lube and GenTeal, but none of them seem to help. Have you seen this happen in any of your patients, and if so, do you have any suggestions. Thank you.
