If the trab was done 12 years ago and the dry eye problem has begun just over the recent past, it seems unlikely to me that mitomycin C should have caused the problem. Stuff happens. Things change as life move on. It's a pity, but things can crop up that are simply additional bad cards that one is dealt along life's way. It is natural to tend to lump things together and to link one bad thing with another. But it is also entirely possible that this is yet another thing that has been dealt to her. And perhaps the fact that this eye has been through a lot has caused the sicca syndrome matter to emerge in this eye well ahead of involvement of the other eye. The presence of the bleb itself may add a mechanical factor that makes sicca more noticible earlier in the operated eye.
You do not mention several matters that are terribly important when one is struggling with understanding why a person's eye feels dry. What are the basal tear secretion values for each eye(Schirmer test after anesthetic and tear lake blotting); what is the tear break up time for each eye? What do the meibomian duct orifices look like? What is the Lissamine green dye staining pattern like for each eye in every area of the ocular surface (not just in the interpalpebral fissure)? How old is your daughter now? What medications (systemic and topical) is she currently taking? What sort of work does she do? What is the situation at home and at work with respect to humidification? Which eye is involved (right or left)? When she sleeps, which side of her face does she favor against the bedding? What is her height and weight? Is she right handed or left handed?

I do not expect (indeed, I do not want) you to answer these questions for me. I am laying them out there simply to illustrate the questions that I would ask a patient sitting in my office with the history and complaint that you post here. I cannot diagnoses much less suggest therapy for your daughter without personally examining her, but hope that this response to your questions illustrates for you how I would approach the problem, and therefore suggests to you the sort of pursuit that your daughter should be taking with respect to examination and evaluation by someone who deals with patients with sicca syndrome on a regular basis.
