My son has been on MTX for over 16 months and he was cell free and off steroids. Dr Chu tapered him off to 5mg per week and this last visit we were hoping he would be cell free and could discontiue the MTX. Bad news was that he had +1 cells in both eyes. Now we are back to where we started 2 years ago using Pred Forte to bring down the inflammation and still on the MTX.
I know Dr Chu will probably want to switch him to cellcept the next visit if there is still inflammation. I was wondering if you had any information on Stem Cell treatment for Uveitis. If there has been positive results we would like to know more about the treatment. If the results have been positive we would go where ever we had to for treatment.
