Posts: 24 (12/22/06 10:38) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My son has uveitis. Because of a recent flareup, his methatrexate was recently increased from 10mg/weekly to 25 mg/weekly by injection. What are the benefits of injection vs oral? Thank you for this site. We look at it often.

This variability increases with increading dose. Injections result in complete absorption of the medication. Additionally, at higher doses, orally administered methotrexate has a higher liklihood of gastrointestinal side effects, such as nausea, than do the injections. csf C. Stephen Foster, MD, FACS, FACR
