Hello Dr Foster,
My daughter had her first remicade infusion the other day. She is currently on 1cc injection of metho per week. She felt VERY sick within a few hours of ending the treatment- she said she felt like she had the flu, pneumonia, strep throat all rolled up in one...
horrible body aches-especially her spine
fever
chills
difficulty swallowing
pale face
ice cold hands
headache
sore throat
we are trying the remicade to control her uveitis. I called her ped. rheum to tell him about her being sick afterward. She was sick for maybe 2 hours. He wants to go ahead and do her next infusion as scheduled in 2 weeks, but pretreat with benadryl. I am not very comfortable because of her reaction. Please share your opinion. I am wondering if we should have tried the Cellcept first, or should now switch to Cellcept since she reacted so badly to the Remicade.
Thank you for any information you can shareand for always being there to support us through these rough spots!
