I have been on 500mg of Naprosyn bid for a year now to treat my epi/scleritis. This has been very successful until recently (I think). Lately I noticed a little redness around my eye which comes and goes throughout the day or from day to day. I have had recurring bouts of anterior Uveitis, 1988, 1990, 1998, two episodes in 2008, and now 3 in 2009. Each time predforte drops have cleared it up withiin a few weeks, and eye pressures have always been normal. The increasing trend is obviously a concern - how long before the eye is likely to be damaged by the steroid drops? Any approximate guides? I have had some basic tests done and no apparent cause has been established. I was diagnosed with Episcleritis and Sclertitis back in July 08. After a couple of trials of finding the right medication, I have been successfully on 500mg of Naproxen for the last year. I recently went to my Uveitis specialist in November and he said my eyes look great. The plan was to continue with the Naproxen for 6 more months and then, if everything looked good, slowly wean me off.
